“Do, or do not. There is no try.”
If you haven't already figured it out, I'm a fan of Star Wars and while it has nothing to really do with fixing computers - I felt it was a fun way to portray what I do and how I can help...
Typically when I agree to fix a computer b/c of virus infected operating system or failed hardware, or whatever the reason - my first question is this:
1. What is critical that you need off of the hard drive. I consider pictures to be the most important of items, while I place the value on music much lower in priority order.
If you aren't currently backing up your data, start. In the meantime - I am generally very successful in data retrieval through a variety of methods.
2. What operating system would you prefer? I am for the most part a Windows guy (XP, Vista, 7, 8). I can install a Linux O/S if you so desire - but chances are if you know what Linux is, you don't need me. Often times I'll answer this question for you based on what you currently have or had and also based on what kind of hardware you have in your laptop or tower (CPU, memory, HDD specs, graphics, etc.).
3. Other than the basics of operating system re-installation, drivers, MS Updates, and some other necessities - what you do want or need?

I've been doing this for several years now and I've built up a strong foundation of loyal customers (300+) via word of mouth only. I'm expanding my business a bit to extend my reach and I'd like the opportunity to become your IT guy.
My focus is and will always remain on the home computer(s) & small business realm. I do this because I enjoy it, and it is a side gig that will never make me rich. I'm more than willing to teach or explain if you have time to listen. With that being said, usually my turnaround time for an infected computer is 48 hours or less. If/when there are additional issues that need to be addressed - I stay in constant contact with the customer to ensure they know of any external costs or lengthier service times.
For the most part, if I'm unable to fix - there is no charge unless stated prior.
